School contributions
In NSW public schools, all financial contributions from families are completely voluntary. No student will ever be disadvantaged or denied access to the full curriculum or any core learning experiences based on whether a contribution is made. These contributions simply help support additional educational resources and learning opportunities that benefit our students.

Choosing a school is an important decision, and we welcome families considering Birchgrove Public School to come and experience our school community firsthand.
School tours are hosted by our senior students on the first Friday of each calendar month, commencing at 9:35 am from the school office. Tours provide an opportunity to explore our learning spaces and facilities, learn more about school life at Birchgrove and see our students and school community in action.
Prospective families are also welcome to meet with the Principal or Assistant Principal to discuss their child’s enrolment and transition to our school.

Transition to School Program
We support students and families at each important stage of their transition into, through and beyond Birchgrove Public School.
Our Preschool and Kindergarten orientation programs are held in Term 4 each year, helping children become familiar with their new learning environment, teachers and school routines before they begin the following year.
We also work closely with local early childhood education services to support children as they transition to school. For our older students, Stage 3 teachers work with local high schools to help prepare Year 6 students for a confident and positive transition to Year 7.
Our aim is to ensure every student feels welcomed, supported and ready for their next stage of learning.
