Our public preschool

A wonderful start to your child's learning journey

Birchgrove Public School Preschool provides a warm, nurturing and play-rich learning environment for children in the year before they begin Kindergarten.

Located within the grounds of Birchgrove Public School, our fee-free public preschool gives children the unique opportunity to begin their learning journey as part of our wider school community.

Through play, exploration, creativity and meaningful relationships, our experienced educators encourage children to become confident, curious and independent learners. Each child is supported to develop at their own pace, build friendships and experience the joy of learning in an environment where they feel safe, known and valued.

We are proud to be rated Exceeding the National Quality Standard, reflecting the quality of education, care and experiences we provide for our children and families.

Our philosophy

At Birchgrove Public School Preschool, we learn and play on Wangal land and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels a strong sense of belonging.

We believe children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful relationships. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our child-centred program encourages curiosity, creativity, independence and resilience while responding to each child's individual strengths, interests and needs.

Strong partnerships with families are at the heart of our approach. By working together, we support children to develop confidence, positive relationships and a lifelong love of learning as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
