Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Finding their voice
Through debating and public speaking, students develop confidence, critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills. Students have opportunities to represent Birchgrove in competitions and put their ideas, creativity and persuasive skills into action.
Creative and performing arts
Creativity comes to life
Students are encouraged to explore and express their creativity through visual arts, music, drama and performance. From classroom learning to exhibitions, concerts and whole-school events, students have opportunities to share their talents and celebrate their achievements with our school community.
Excursions, camps and learning beyond the classroom
Learning at Birchgrove extends well beyond the school gates. Excursions, incursions and camps give students opportunities to explore new environments, experience learning firsthand and connect classroom learning with the wider world.
These experiences help students develop independence, curiosity, confidence and lasting memories with their classmates.
Music at Birchgrove
Music is an important part of school life at Birchgrove. Students have opportunities to learn instruments, participate in ensembles and bands, sing in our junior and senior choirs, and perform at school and community events.
Our extensive music program supports students at different levels of experience, helping them develop musical skills, confidence, creativity and a lifelong enjoyment of music.
Student leadership
We encourage students to have a voice and play an active role in school life. Through student leadership, peer support and other school initiatives, students develop responsibility, confidence, teamwork and the skills to make a positive contribution to their school community.
