Community involvement

Our strong sense of community is an important part of life at Birchgrove Public School. We value the partnerships we share with our families, carers and wider community and welcome their involvement in school life.

Whether it’s joining our P&C, volunteering at a school event or supporting activities throughout the year, there are many ways to get involved, meet other families and contribute to our school community.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

The Birchgrove Public School P&C brings together parents, carers and members of our school community who want to support and enrich the school experience for our students.

Working in partnership with the school, the P&C supports a range of initiatives, fundraising activities, events and community projects that benefit our students and families.

Getting involved with the P&C is also a great way to meet other families, stay connected with what is happening at school and have a voice in our school community.

P&C meetings

P&C meetings are held on Wednesdays in Week 3 and Week 8 of each term at 7:30 pm in the Birchgrove Public School Library.

All parents, carers and members of our school community are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please note that you must be a current financial member of the P&C to vote on motions.

Volunteer at our school

Volunteering is a wonderful way to become involved in school life and support our students, staff and community.

Opportunities to volunteer may include:

• supporting P&C activities and events
• listening to students read in the classroom
• helping at sporting carnivals and special school events
• assisting with other school and community activities throughout the year.
